Martha Noblitt

December 30, 1942 — September 9, 2025

Today we celebrate the life of Martha (Marty) Jean Noblitt. She was born on December 30th, 1942, in Indianapolis, IN. She was called home to the Lord on September 9th, 2025.

Marty attended and graduated from Howe High School with the class of 1961.

She then worked for Indiana Bell and Ameritech for 30 years before retiring in 1994. After working for Chase Bank for many years, in 2011, she retired once again. Her faith was always a priority in her life. She was deeply devoted to the Lord and found joy in worship and fellowship and being an active member of her church’s community.

More than anything, Marty was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her grandchildren meant the world to her.

She is preceded in death by her father, George Dirr Sr and mother, Esther Dirr ( Moore) her siblings: George Dirr Jr. (Katie), Charles Dirr (Jean), Margaret Hopkins, Carolyn Jane Russell (Harry), Her daughter, Julie Messer, son-in-law, Harry (Frank) Messer, and daughter-in-law, Teresa (Robin) Noblitt. Though they are gone from this world, they are now reunited with Marty in eternal peace.

She is survived by her son: Michael Noblitt, grandchildren: Danny Russell Jr., Lora Clay (Darnell), Sarah Noblitt (Constante Baniaga Jr.), and Dylan Messer ( Kacie), and bonus grandson: Jason Templeton. Also her great-grandchildren: Kamiya, Amani , Alexzandrea, Kailani, and DJ, and great-great-grandson: Kaydence. Among many nieces , nephews, cousins, friends, and others who adopted Marty as their grandmother throughout the years.

Anyone who knew Marty knew what a gentle and kind soul she was. She never knew a stranger and always had a smile on her face.

She loved to travel with her kids when they were growing up and loved being able to watch not only her grandchildren grow up but also her great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren grow to the smart and kind-hearted kids they are today.

She lived a wonderful life filled with joy, laughter, and most of all, love. She will be missed dearly by so many people.
