Mark Allan Barmes, 64, of Muncie, IN passed away on June 12, 2024. Born in Franklin, IN to Gertie (Allen) and Jim Jones on May 16, 1960, he leaves behind a legacy that will continue for all who were fortunate enough to know him. Those close to Mark will fondly remember his many stories of his adventures in fishing and camping alongside his beloved dog, Jett. He was always eager to tell a story or sing along. Always entertaining, he will be remembered as the life of the party. 

A proud Marine Veteran, Mark was a man of honor and integrity in everything he did. His free-spirited nature was complemented by his keen business sense, which he shared with his children. Mark was a gifted conversationalist, while he enjoyed public speaking, he was a listening ear to those he reached through prison ministry and assisting others through addiction recovery. His talent for making friends easily made a profound impact on his work within his community. 

Mark is preceded in death by his mother, listed above, and grandmother. 

He is survived by his father, listed above; wife, Shelby; siblings, Rick, Jeff, and Tina; children, Josh, James, Jeffrey, and Angela; and several grandchildren to share in his memory. 

Visitation will be held at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 1:00pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00pm.
