Marie Dulia Toussaint

Marie Dulia Toussaint was the beloved daughter of Jaynelyse Mourice and Dul’homme Toussaint, who raised her with love, care, laughter, and joy alongside her siblings: Therese, Française, Willesien, Ismaida, Rosely, Zette, and Kesnel. Later in life, she found love and married her husband, Paul Orel Bernard who passed away on May 28, 2021.

Marie Dulia Toussaint passed away at the age of 78 in Indianapolis, IN, on October 29, 2025. She was born on February 13, 1947, in Coleaux of de Bureau Cayes, Haiti. Marie was the mother of ten children, though one, named Frenél, left this world ahead of her. Before she rested with the Lord, she was the mother of nine: Maxorel, Marie, Daniel, Girel, Samuel, Yadeley, Williams, Mikacel, and Judes. She also had a total of 17 grandchildren: Jeff, Berline, Berlande, Amahri, Joathan, Kayla, Noah, Judely, Anderson, Judeson, Juberson, Exanaika, Stanley, Dyaley, Davideson, Richard, and others.

Marie Dulia Toussaint was brave; she struggled every day to rise, and by God's blessings, she did so without complaints. Marie was not only a mother to her children but also a mother to her community. Despite facing many difficulties and struggles in her life, she always found a reason to smile. Many people affectionately called her "Douy," but among her children, she was lovingly known as "Dia." She had a heart full of love and a willingness to help those in need.

As it says in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." This is exactly what Marie Dulia Toussaint accomplished—she fought the good fight with courage and confidence in God. Now, she has found rest in the presence of Jesus Christ, where there is no pain and no tears. God gave us a precious gift when he brought her into our lives, and though the pain of her departure weighs heavily on us, we know she rests in the arms of the Lord.
