Lowell "Butch" E. Smith, Jr., 83 years old of Camby, Indiana, passed away at his home July 18, 2026. He was born December 30, 1942, in Beech Grove, Indiana. He was the son of Lowell "Smitty" E. Smith, Sr. and Lillian M. (Dickey) Smith.
Survivors include his son, Bryan (Kim) Smith of Bowling Green, Indiana; his daughter, Cindy Parker of Camby, Indiana; his sisters: Paula Yates, Carolyn Maxwell, and Terry Christofferson; his brothers: Frank Smith, David Smith, and Samuel Smith. Lowell also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and lots of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Alice "Cookie Baker" Smith; his son, Lowell "Bugg" E. Smith, III; a grandson, Jacob "Jake" Dalton. Others who passed on before him include his parents and his brothers: Wayne Smith, Joe Smith, and Brad Smith.
Butch retired from Smith Truck & Trailer. He loved to spend time and money at auctions and almost every auctioneer in Indiana knew him. He liked junking at his junk yard and watching Westerns day in and day out. His greatest pastimes were spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved hunting years ago with his friends, sons, and grandsons.
