Lory Ann Eastridge, born on August 24, 1963, in Indianapolis, passed away peacefully in Mooresville on June 26, 2026, at the age of 62.
Throughout her life, Lory embodied kindness, resilience, and a deep dedication to her family and those who knew her. Family and friends often sought her advice and assistance because she had an open door for anyone who needed it, whether it was a meal or a place to stay. Celeo, her son-in-law, said that his family thought that Lory was a hero for all that she did for others.
People gravitated toward Lory. This was not only due to her loving heart but also due to her colorful and vibrant personality, which she liked to express with the bright colors that she dyed her hair. Lory also expressed herself through poetry that she wrote and in the foods that she cooked. Her famous five-pound pizza was a family favorite, and she taught her grandchildren how to bake cookies and how to make candies during the holidays. Lory loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and one time, she bought so many gifts that the tree was barely visible! But not just holidays, Lory’s generous spirit in opening her home to others for cookouts and get togethers was not limited only to humans, she also took care of animals. Over the years, Lory had chickens, rabbits, a duck, and a pot-bellied pig. Probably her favorite pet, however, was Pixie, an obese, long-haired chihuahua who she would dress up in different costumes and was heartbroken when she passed away.
Besides taking care of the pets and the people in her life, Lory enjoyed reading. She read a wide variety of books from romance novels to mysteries and suspense. Lory also read her bible on a daily basis which nourished her faith and contributed to her generous and giving spirit. Throughout her years, Lory’s generous spirit touched many. She forged strong, enduring relationships with friends and members of her extended family, offering comfort, understanding, and laughter wherever she went. Her wisdom and compassion left a lasting imprint on those fortunate to know her.
Lory will be mourned deeply by her daughters, Laura Robinson and Belinda Eastridge-Funez, and her son-in-law, Celeo Funez-Madrid, her grandchildren: Hayley, Barbara, Helena, Julian, Destinie, Mary, Jeremy Jr., Alex, McKinsey, Jazmine, Sebastain, and Noah; and her three great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her current husband, Kenny Lawless, and her stepchildren: Bianca Kendall, Dawn Lawless, and Mindy Lawless. Lory is also survived by her former husband, John Eastridge, with whom she maintained a friendly and cordial relationship. Lastly, Lory’s brothers, Lloyd Gerholdt, Floyd Gerholdt, and John Gerholdt, along with her sister, Peggy Stout, are left to cherish her memory.
Lory was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Elizabeth Gerholdt; her brothers, Benjamin Gerholdt and Duke Gerholdt; her stepson, Darrell Lawless; and her fur baby, Pixie.
The life of Lory Ann Eastridge will be honored with visitation services on Wednesday, July 2, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Indianapolis, located at 1604 West Morris Street, Indianapolis, IN 46221.
