Linda Diane (Mills) Neer, age 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 25, 2026. Born on October 8, 1940, Linda lived a life defined by her deep devotion to her family, her faith, and her community.
Linda was a dedicated mother and a loyal friend whose warmth and kindness touched many lives. Those close to Linda remember her for her quick wit, generosity, and overall joy. She enjoyed holidays surrounded by her loved ones and the thrill of mystery novels.
She had a vibrant spirit and a true love for adventure. Alongside her beloved husband, Harry, she spent years exploring the beauty of the country, taking unforgettable cross-country trips in their RV, visiting the breathtaking Grand Canyon, and making beautiful memories with him on a surprise trip to Hawaii. Whether parked at a scenic campsite or exploring a new state, she found great joy in the journey, always gathering new stories and making lifelong friends along the way. She was also a valued member of the Mt. Comfort Methodist Church community.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Louis Neer; her parents, Harold and Evelyn Francis Mills; and her son, Christopher Neer.
Linda’s legacy of love lives on through her surviving sons, Jeffrey Neer, Gregory Neer, and Daniel Neer (wife, Jennifer). She was the proud grandmother of Shauna (husband, Jonathan), Ashley (husband, David), Joshua, Ramsey, and Eric (wife, Stephanie), and her joy multiplied through the generations as a cherished great-grandmother to Autumn, Chloe, Brooklyn, Mariska, Kaden, and Ethan; a great-great-grandmother to Violet and Leo. She is also survived by her brother, Randall Mills (wife, Nettie) and her sister, Debbie Adams, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 6th, from 1pm to 3pm at Mt. Comfort Methodist Church, 3194 N 600 W, Greenfield, IN. The family warmly invites you to bring your favorite short stories, memories, and photos to share as they celebrate the amazing woman Linda was.
