Linda Marie Mayer

January 9, 1954 — January 8, 2023

Fishers, IN

Linda Marie Mayer, 68, of Fishers, In, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2023, while surrounded by her three children. She was born on January 9, 1954, in Long Beach, CA to Bernard and Helen (Payton) Porter. She was a proud “Valley Girl”, and graduated from James Monroe High School in Sepulveda, CA. She attended Life Pacific Bible College in Echo Park Los Angeles, CA where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology with several minors. She worked as a Project Manager and Business Analyst in Aerospace & Defense before moving on to Corporate Training in several high-profile industries. She was a devoted servant of Jesus Christ and was very active in church from an early age.

Linda loved life, and all it had to offer. She dedicated her life to the Lord, her children, and her grandchildren. She loved to laugh and be goofy. She loved the beach and the sunshine. She loved to read, and never stopped learning about new things. She loved to shop and collect things, especially Snowmen and Penguins. She loved music, movies, and TV. She was a huge Star Trek fan her whole life, and finally got to meet her hero William Shatner a few years ago. Most of all, she loved her family, whether they were blood, in-law, or “adopted”.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard Porter Sr., and Helen (Payton) Porter, as well as her first husband, Ralph Woltz III.

Linda is survived by her husband, Charles Mayer. Her children: Dale (Woltz) Mayer, Amanda Mayer (Travis), and Penny Mayer (Clarissa). Her grandchildren: Kamdin, Kaysen, and Kadence. Her brother: Bernard Porter Jr. (Ann). Her stepmother: Dorothea Porter. Her Aunt, Lorraine Porter and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her many “adopted” children over the years. There are too many to list here, but she loved them with all her heart.
