Lela Mae Anderson of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away at age 82 on April 1, 2025. Born and raised in Mooresburg, TN with a family of ten brothers and sisters. Lela graduated from Rogersville high school in Hawkins County, TN in 1960.
Lela moved to Indiana soon after graduating, married and started her family of 5 children in 1962. She held positions in office administration as well as seamstress. She was enthusiastic about reading the bible, enjoyed singing, and sharing country music. She also enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, collecting gemstones and crocheting.
Survived by her sister; Shelia Carpenter, children: Donna Copeland, John Wheeler, William Wheeler and Denny Anderson. Thirteen grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by mother; Elzie Leona, Father; George Carpenter, Husband; Denzel Anderson, William Wheeler, daughter; Lisa Wheeler, siblings; Nancy Carpenter, Loretta Collins, Doris West, David Carpenter, James Carpenter, Paul Carpenter, Marvin Carpenter, Roberta Carpenter, grandson; Ryan Wheeler
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Chapel at Connection Point Christian Church,
1800 N. Green St., Brownsburg, IN
on Wednesday, April 23rd with visitation will be held from 3pm until time of services at 4:30pm.
