Laura L. Wood

Laura L. Wood, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2024, in Anderson, IN. Born on November 5, 1964, in Anderson to Bill and Vernedo Wood. 

Having spent over two decades at D&D Brake, followed by successful stints at Caterpillar and BMI, Laura's professional journey was a testament to her resilience and hardworking demeanor. Laura loved her work friends whom she cherished dearly and considered family. Laura's dedication to her job shone brightly through the years as she left a lasting impact on all those she worked with.

Outside of work, Laura was an avid Tony Stewart fan. She also enjoyed watching the Colts play. She loved to sing and dance any chance she could and was always the life of the party with her friends and family. Her generous and loving nature extended beyond the workplace, as she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her warm personality and kind heart earned her a vast circle of friends who valued her companionship and support.

In her leisure time, Laura found solace in riding motorcycles, indulging in bass fishing excursions, and basking in the warmth of the sun. These hobbies reflected her adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors.

Laura Wood's Celebration of Life service will be held on June 7, 2024, at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services - Anderson; 504 W 9th St, Anderson, IN. The event will commence at 2:00 PM and conclude at 6:00 PM as family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones gather to honor and remember a remarkable individual who touched so many lives.

Laura is survived by her loving family members and friends whose lives have been enriched by her presence. Surviving her are her siblings Bill Wood (Kim) and Lisa Wood (Tish); nephews Billy Wood, Wesley Wood, Wade Wood, Tigh Conley, Josh Wood, and Landen Wood; Aunt Jackie Kelly (Jim); cousins Jimmy Kelly, Tony Tabor, Tracy Tabor, David Danner, Jason Danner, Larry Ferguson, Randy Ferguson, Tim King, Christina Ferguson, Mike Ferguson, Tammy Ferguson; special kids whom she saw as her own Ashton John "Bubble", Shelby, Maddee, Nikki, Josiah, Krisha, Keiana, Kenya; and best friend Sherri Muncy. 

She is preceded in death by her parents listed above, and aunts Patty, Sue, Kay, and Marthella, and best friend Robin Beasley. 

Though she may no longer walk among us, the memory of Laura's hardworking nature, loving spirit, and genuine friendship will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.
