Laura Jane Fitch

Laura Jane Fitch, 89, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on February 10, 2024.  She was born on June 3, 1934, in Bloomington, IL, to the late Ernest and Lila (Sanders) Hilton.  Laura helped run the cafeteria at Heather Hills as the lead cook in the 70s. She was very passionate about helping and being there for the children.

Laura loved to read.  She was kind, had an affinity for elephants and always had a smile on her face. No matter what she was dealing with she would maintain her joy. It is said that she gave the best hugs, stranger or family. She treated you the same.  Laura was a wonderful mother to her children, Deborah, Charles and Richard.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Deborah Ann Fitch; and son, Charles Vincent Fitch.  

Laura is survived by her son, Richard Fitch Sr (Irma).; grandson, Richard Fitch Jr.; granddaughter, Melissa Ann Fitch (Cole); along with many extended family and friends. 

There will be a memorial service at 3pm on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a gathering starting at 2pm.
