Kirk Alan Michael, age 69, of Anderson, passed away on July 6, 2022, at St. Vincent Anderson Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Anderson on January 5, 1953, to the late Donald and Norma Jean (Guston) Michael.

Kirk was a graduate of Pendleton Heights High School. He worked as a Journeyman Tool and Die maker with his father at Salem Tool and Die in Daleville, helping him grow and build the business. For several years, Kirk worked for the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. Later, he enjoyed a long career in the auto industry at General Motors. There wasn’t anything more important to Kirk than his grandchildren and spending time with them. They often referred to him as “Gumball” as a loving nickname. Kirk was passionate and gave 100% in all he did. He was brilliant in mastering different crafts and was a jack of all trades in all sense of the phrase. He had a passion for music, especially the piano and banjo. He wrote and played classical music. He was very patriotic and proud to be an American. His faith was very important to him. He was a wonderful father, grandpa, brother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Kirk is survived by his children Josh Michael (Morgan Deal), Kristen Noble (Kyle), and Jordan Michael (Lacey); grandchildren Natalie Michael, Hunter Michael, Archer Michael, Kyndal Noble, Kerrington Noble, Rhett Michael, and Lynnlee Michael; brother Rex Michael; and former wife and life-partner Jacalyn Michael.

Kirk is preceded in death by his parents listed above.

Cremation was chosen through Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson.
