Kenneth Whisman

July 7, 1927 — July 7, 2022

Kenneth Whisman passed away 7/7/2022.  Yes, he picked his 95th birthday!

He is survived by his daughters, Jane, Marguie, Kathy and son, Mike.

Six grandchildren and six great grandchildren called him grandpa.

He was a caring and loving husband (they were married just 5 weeks shy of their 68th wedding anniversary). And he was an extra special dad.

He was proud to have served in the Navy in WWII.  Going on the Indy Honor flight was a very special and memorable experience. He even asked if he could go a 2nd time.  He told many about the Honor Flight. He made some friends on that flight and was able to get together with them for lunch.

Ken called many his friend.  He so enjoyed getting together with them over the years. He loved to laugh and tell stories.   He faithfully went to his high school class reunion.

He loved fishing, camping and puttering in the garage.

He cared about others, even at the rehab facility, while I was pushing his wheelchair if he saw someone struggling alone, he would tell me to push them back to their room.  He would wait.  Or after he got his meal and a frequent resident at his table didn’t, he would give her his oatmeal, so the resident had something to eat. I had so many people tell me over the years and recently at the facility, how much they liked my dad.  He was a good guy.

Ken cherished all the friends he made during his life including those he worked with at Railway Express Agency and Kroger Crossroads Dairy. He made so many great friends and memories through GIBA and the memories and stories he would retell made him laugh often.

He will be missed; however, he is with our mom now.  He really missed her.

A gathering of friends and relatives will be held:
