Kenneth Lee Miller

Kenneth Lee Miller, 78, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away July 22nd, 2025. Born on May 6, 1946, in Anderson to Frank H. Miller and Edith (Willis) Miller, Kenneth was one-of-a-kind—a social, sharp-witted man who could fix anything and never met a stranger.

A graduate of Pendleton High School, Class of 1964, Kenneth went straight to work at Guide Lamp before being drafted into the U.S. Army. He served his country bravely in Vietnam, and after a year in combat, returned home and picked up where he left off—back at Guide Lamp, where he worked for 34 years and retired as a supervisor. Once he worked on a machine, his coworkers said it was officially "Millerized."

In retirement and later in the nursing home, he was fondly called “Mr. Fix-It.” Nothing seemed to scare him—except maybe his twin sister, Granny, and the sweeper hose. He enjoyed war stories and talking to others-he could talk to anyone about anything and had a way of making everyone feel like an old friend. He had a soft spot for animals, kids, and grandkids—and a special place in his heart for Tamara, whom he married on Valentine's Day during the Blizzard of 1978.

Kenneth is survived by his twin sister, Karen Schlegelmilch; his brother, Bill Miller; and his children: Kim Gaffney, Kevon Miller (Kelli), Jeff Miller (Tasha), Jasmine Miller, and Jessica Allen (Tim). He was a proud grandpa to Reagan, Jaden, Cameron, Courtney, Austin, Anthony (Danielle), Toby, Raylee, Kayla, Auryon, Logan, Sean, Nathaniel, Danielle, Dakota, Stormy, and River.

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above; his brother-in-law, Tony Schlegelmilch; and his sister-in-law, Joanne Miller.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Madison County Humane Society for “The Cat House,” in honor of Kennth’s love for animals.

Kenneth lived a life full of stories, service, and strength—and leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and a few well-tuned machines.
