Ms. Kelly Sue Smith-Perry

Kelly Sue Smith – Perry, age 53, of Indianapolis, IN died unexpectedly on June 3, 2022.  She was born on March 7, 1969 in Greenfield, IN to Vaughn Ross “Butch” Kuhns and Patsy Jean (Cole) Kuhns who both survive.

She was a 1987 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and went on to become an educator herself working for various schools, most recently at The Oaks Academy.  She was an active member of the Bates-Hendricks Neighborhood Association, Fountain Square Presbyterian Church, where she was also on the Mercy Team and a volunteer with Meet Me Under the Bridge Ministries.  She loved the outdoors, especially kayaking, hiking and riding her bike around town.

She is survived by her parents; children, Aaron Smith, Miriam Smith, Donnie Smith and Michael Spalding; grandson, Michael Smith; brother, Von Ryan (Melissa) Kuhns as well as numerous aunts and uncles.  Extended family from The Oaks and Fountain Square Presbyterian will also mourn her loss.  She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, 1505 N. Delaware, Indianapolis from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will be private.  Donations in Kelly’s memory can be made to Meet Me Under the Bridge Ministries.  Envelopes will be available at the church.  Arrangements entrusted to Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Indianapolis.
