Kassie Lea Benson

Kassie Lea Benson, born on June 27, 1985, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on March 17, 2026, in her hometown.

Kassie possessed an extraordinary gift for bringing people together, ensuring that celebrations were held to mark life’s moments with joy and connection. She will be remembered as loyal and hardworking, always there to support those she loved. Her unique affection was evident in the special nicknames she lovingly gave to the people who mattered most in her life.

Kassie's home was a source of happiness where many memories were made, especially during Friendsgiving. Surrounded by loved ones in her family home, she fouond joy in cheering for the Indianapolis Colts and playing fantasy football. Vacations to Florida to spend time with her loved ones were among her most cherished moments.

Kassie cared deeply for her two cats, as well as several porch cats she watched over with kindness. Concerts and horror movies shared with friends and family were her favorite.

Kassie is survived by her devoted husband, Sean Benson; and loving parents, David Gumerson and Kathy Gumerson; and best friend, Sarah Helman. Kassie is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins who loved her dearly. The family will hold a private celebration of life to honor her spirit among those closest to her. In lieu of flowers, her family kindly requests a donation to the Smitten Kitten Cat Café or the American Cancer Society.
