Karen Lynne Phillips, age 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana, died peacefully at home Monday, September 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was born June 12, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter of William “Bill” and Bertha “Babe” (Perkinson) Trout. She married Bradley “Joe” Phillips on December 28, 1997, and was married for 27 years.
She was a long time employee with Eli Lilly, but most of all, family meant the world to her. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She lived her best life surrounding herself with family, all her fur babies, good friends, and a good book.
Karen is survived by her beloved husband, Joe; daughters, Jennifer Evan and her husband, Steve; Leslie Barrick and her husband, Travis; and Catherine Stout. She was blessed with six grandsons and eight great grandkids.
Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services - Indianapolis assisted the family with arrangements. There will be a visitation for family and friends Friday, September 12, 2025, from 11:00AM - 12:30PM at the Morris Street Chapel, and the funeral will immediately follow. In celebration of Karen’s life and her favorite place, St. Pete Beach, the services will have a Floridian theme. If attending the services feel free to wear coastal attire. Following the funeral, Karen will be laid to rest at West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Indy Humane Society in her name.
