Karen Hahn

January 28, 1951 — July 4, 2024

Karen Jean (Folsom) Hahn, 73, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2024. Her unwavering loyalty to her family and friends was deeply felt as she was tried and true, reliable and selfless.

Long before retiring from General Motors after 30+ years of service, Karen was a dedicated single mother of three. As fate had it, she crossed paths with Jim Hahn, blending their families. They were just shy of celebrating 26 years as husband and wife. Together, they enjoyed vacationing at Madeira Beach, Florida.

Karen was passionate about many things and was the matriarch of the family shown by taking the lead in planning family events to crocheting blankets to welcome new babies into the family, to never missing a special occasion by sending a thoughtful card.

Karen was a proud graduate of Anderson High School, class of 1969. She was an avid reader, enjoyed girls’ nights, and any activity her kids or grandkids participated in. Karen shared her love for nature with her children and grandchildren, specifically Mounds State Park. Her dedication to the League of Women Voters displayed her passion for fairness, making it a priority to ensure all voters had an equal opportunity to cast their ballots.

She had a very tight-knit group of long-time girlfriends she made a priority to meet with (virtually) every week. They also made time for many trips together. Quality time was her love language, and she made room for everyone. Karen had so much to give that each family member had their own special piece of her. She will be forever missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Jim Hahn; children, Jennifer (Denard) Johnson, Jeremy (Amber) Johnson, Kristina (Jacob) Buston; as well as her step-children, Danielle Geer, Chad (Francesca) Hahn, Chris (Cathy) Hahn; grandchildren, Morgan, Tyler, Courtnie, De’Jon, Nathan, Graham, Reed, Lucas, Ellie, Taylor; along with her siblings, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 1:00 pm. Please join the family at Millcreek Civic Center, Chesterfield, IN.
