Judy Lee Garland Kingery, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 17, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on November 29, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Judy was the beloved daughter of Woodrow and Alma Garland.
A proud graduate of Howe High School in 1966, Judy embarked on a professional journey that included roles at PR Mallory Co., Capital Paper Co., and DC Heath Text Books Co.
She loved her gardening and worked hard to beautify the world around her. Her passion for the outdoors was highlighted by her enjoyment of her camping trailer, which served as a second home for her many adventures. In her leisure time, Judy was an avid sports fan, passionately supporting the Indiana University Hoosiers, Butler Bulldogs, Indianapolis Colts, and Indiana Pacers.
Judy’s unyielding belief in God offered strength and comfort to those around her. Her sense of humor brightened the lives of her family and friends. She will be sincerely missed.
Judy's family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her devoted husband, Donald R. Kingery, she married on March 30, 1973; and her children, Angela Teverbaugh and Robert Kingery; and sister-in-law, Lou Garland. She was an adored grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt to three and a great aunt to six. She is preceded in passing by her brother, Woody Garland. Those close to Judy continue to thank God for the love shared.
Judy’s request for private services reflects her modest nature. In lieu of flowers, her family kindly requests a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association of Indiana in her honor.
