Joseph Allen Davis, 83, of Anderson, has gone home to the Lord on October 22nd, 2023, leaving a void in the hearts of many who cherished him. Joe was born on June 19, 1940, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Davis.

Joe was a 1958 graduate of Gaston High School. He dedicated 38 years of his life to General Motors, retiring to relish his passion for camping and fishing in the company of a large and loving family, as well as dear friends. He attended Prairie Grove Church in Gaston with his family for several years. Joe's life was marked by a selflessness that knew no bounds. He raised six grandchildren, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to family. Among them, Little David, who was born with special needs in 1988, was lovingly cared for by Joe for 27 precious years of his life.

In his later years, Joe enjoyed memorable vacations and fishing trips with his daughter, Sheri and best friend, Kenny Bennett. For four years, he resided in Sugar Fork, and in his final three months, he found comfort in the warm embrace of his daughter Sheri's home. He cherished moments spent outdoors and shared many joyful rides on his scooter with his beloved girlfriend, Sheila.

Joseph was preceded in death by his first wife, Priscilla Lynn Parks (married 1960). and his second wife, Dorothy Davis (married on December 5, 1969), He also said goodbye to his children Lori Jane Davis and Butch Garringer (Connie), as well as his grandchildren Randy Hall and Little David Davis; sister in-law Sheryn, and son in-law Ted Dodge.

He is survived by a loving family that will carry his legacy forward: his children Sheri Holliday (Phil), Sharon Foster (Larry), Pam Dodge (Ted), Sally Livesay (Mitchell), Penny Hall (Ron), David Davis (Wendy). He leaves behind a host of adoring grandchildren, including Danielle Quakebush (Travis), Cesilie Holliday, Austin Holliday (Emily), Shelly Garringer, Michael Garringer, Scotty Garringer, Ted Foster, Chris Avery, Steve Foster, Angie Bingaman, Laura Helper, Tamara Dodge, Ronnie Dodge, Dennis Dodge, Mitchell (Buddy) Livesay, Daniel Livesay, Chad Hall, Ryan Hall, Jessica Hall, Dallas Davis, Skylar Davis, Maria Davis, Alayna Davis, and Justice Davis. He was also blessed with about 50 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his brother Larry Davis (Dee) and sister Rosanna Wade (Mike); nieces: Ranae Burket (Craig), Amy Lasater, Lisa Wade Conley (Edward); Nephews: Joseph Wade and Larry Wade (Jonetta).

Joseph Allen Davis leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and generosity that will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends for generations to come.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 25, 2023 from 5-7pm. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday October 26, 2023 from 1030-1130am with a funeral service beginning at 1130am. Burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery.
