John Louis Johnson

John Louis Johnson Sr, 71, passed away on September 24, 2024. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 24, 1953 to Jennie B. Johnson. 

John will be remembered as a fun-loving family man, whose joy for life was evident in his love for singing, dancing, and engaging in card and domino games with his family. His enthusiasm extended to sports, as he was a dedicated fan who passionately cheered for the Colts and Lakers. His spirit and warmth created cherished memories for those around him.

John lived a life full of experiences and was deeply involved in various service jobs, where he demonstrated his great skills and passion, particularly in the automotive field, starting with valet services and later becoming a chauffeur in the Indianapolis area .

John is preceded in passing by his mother, mentioned above; sister, Linda Powell; brother, David Johnson; and sons, John Johnson Jr and Ivan Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Sabra R. Johnson; children, Joshua Johnson and Sabra Johnson; grandson, Malakai Morris; and siblings, Debra Johnson, Sheila Johnson, Brenda Smith, James Johnson, Ronald Johnson, Alvin Johnson, and Darnell Johnson. 

Services honoring John Louis Johnson Sr. will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services—Lawrence. Visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. John's legacy of love, laughter, and enthusiasm for life will continue to be celebrated by all who knew him.
