John Long Sr.

John Long Sr. 67 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away at the Heart Hospital North October 13, 2022. He was born November 23, 1954, in Beech Grove, Indiana to James F. Long and Lois Long (Ulmer)
John graduated from Warren Central High School in 1973 and went to Vincennes University and got an Associate Degree in Science (automotive Technology) and has been a mechanic ever since. He owned a Sunoco Service Station with his father James at 21st and Franklin Road. He has worked at Chuck Callahan Ford, Pep Boys, Auto Source, Bob Rorhman on Washington Street, Tom Wood on Pendleton Pike, The City of Indianapolis Police garage at Riverside- where he started on 3rd shift then went to 1st shift where he retired from in December of 2020. He then went to work at Belle Tire on Pendleton Pike. He looked forward to going to work every day with his grandson Devin. John was ASE Master Certified Technician.
John loved watching Nascar, The Colts, Reds, and the Pacers. He loved coaching his daughter Brandi’s softball team. He loved watching Johnny’s baseball games. He loved watching the kids bowl and enjoyed when we all bowled on a team together as a family. John was all around family man, he did everything for his family.
John had a great sense of humor. That is why everyone loved him that came in contact with him. He will be greatly missed.
John is survived by his wife of 42 years Pamela, son John Jr. (Cynthia), daughter Brandi (Leon), sister Debbie (Chris). And his grandkids Devin, Delin, Darin, Destiny, Dalin, Khloe, and Hadlee. He is proceeded in death by his parents James and Lois Long and his brother James (Jimmy) Long
