In Loving Memory of John Randall Hilbolt

John Randall Hilbolt, a resident of Anderson, Indiana, left this world on November 15th, 2023. Born to John Hilbolt and Rosalie Bowers on March 9, 1953, Randall, as many called him, was a beloved figure known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor.

A true jokester at heart, Randall found joy in making people laugh and poking fun at the world around him. His friends nicknamed him "Rodney Dangerfield," that captured his irreverent and comedic spirit. Randall cherished his role as a father above all else, finding immense joy in giving life's lessons to his sons, John William Chance Hilbolt and James Bryton Chase Hilbolt, from the moment they entered his world.

Boating, flying, and riding his motorcycle were among Randall's passions, and he eagerly anticipated sharing these experiences with his sons upon retirement. Lake MaxinKuckee and Culver Military Academy held a special place in his heart. Randall received his pilot license from Culver, and the friendships at the academy remained deeply important to him.  Randall's garage was another favorite place where he expertly fixed and tinkered with things, earning him the reputation of a master mechanic—there wasn't a challenge he couldn't conquer.

With over 20 years as a truck driver, Randall's dedication and skill were recognized with a prestigious 1 million-mile award. He retired from Cater Express, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and determination.

While Randall was known for his playful banter and lighthearted teasing, those closest to him cherished the kind heart that he sometimes kept hidden. His family affectionately remembers him as "our butthole with a big soft heart." Randall extended his helping hand not only to family and friends but also to neighbors, and he never knew a stranger.

Randall is survived by his wife and longtime love, Shauna Carter Hilbolt, his sons, John William Chance Hilbolt and James Bryton Chase Hilbolt, stepfather Phil Bowers, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Rex Hoppes, and brother-in-law John Carter. He is preceded in death by his infant daughter Katherine LeAndra, father John Hilbolt, and mother Rosalie Bowers.

In celebrating Randall's life, let us remember the laughter he shared, the lessons he imparted, and the love that will forever remain in our hearts. There will be a celebration of life on December 2nd from 2pm to 5pm at the family home.
