Jo Ann Greger

Jo Ann Greger, 81, of Carmel, Indiana went home to be with our Lord and Savior on November 6, 2022. She was born on January 2, 1941, to Albert and Lula Golden, and was raised in Marked Tree, Arkansas before moving to Indiana as a young girl. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Marshall-Robbins (Michael), son Daniel Davis (Tanya); grandchildren Dylan Cox (Shayna), Dustin Marshall (Mellisa), Kevin Marshall (Brittany), and Lori Hinton (David); her former partner and father of her children, Samuel Davis; sister Phyllis Lowery (Harold); brother Don Golden (Linda); several great grandchildren, and many more family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lula; husband Gary Greger; siblings Carrol Golden, Harold Golden, Dairl Golden, Jerry Golden, Redgie Golden, William (Buddy) Golden, Glenda Renihan, and Carlon Golden; and son in law William Marshall.

She worked a few jobs during her lifetime and went on to retire from the Marion County Clerk’s office. However, her most important and notable roles were as a mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, cousin, aunt, and friend. She loved her family with her entire being, and she made that well known to everyone around her.  She was the host for most family functions throughout her lifetime (always cooking delicious meals and baking some amazing pies); and her house was always the “go-to” house for the grandchildren while they were growing up.

She did not keep her opinions to herself often, she was likely the most stubborn woman to have graced this earth and Lord did she have a fiery personality; but she was also the most giving, the most generous, and the most passionate about her family and her loved ones. She would likely be telling us all to stop mourning for her and to keep living our lives, but we would be remiss to not honor the life of this amazingly strong woman.

Please join us for a celebration of life on Thursday, November 10, 2022. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1p-2p, with the funeral service starting at 2p.
