Anderson

Jill Anne Lennertz, 51, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on August 26, 2025. She was born on October 7, 1973, in Plattsburgh, New York, to David and Darlene (Mooso) Ratliff.

Jill was a creative, fun-loving soul who never met a stranger. She had a deep love for animals, the outdoors, and camping with friends and family. Jill treasured time with her family and was known for her adventurous spirit and sense of humor. She loved concerts, collecting rocks, trying new foods, and exploring the world through cruises and travel with her husband, family, and friends.

On September 22, 2007, Jill married the love of her life, Neil Lennertz, in a beautiful wedding at The Indianapolis Propylaeum House, complete with a horse-drawn carriage. They lived in Indianapolis for several years before making Anderson their home a little over a year ago.

For 27 years, Jill proudly worked for The American Legion National Headquarters, serving as a Senior Supervisor of member support. Her work was more than a career; it was a community where she built lifelong friendships. She was active on numerous committees and supported countless sponsorship opportunities through the Legion. Before moving to Anderson, Jill was a member of Traders Point Christian Church in Zionsville, where she enjoyed attending services with her dear friends Bill and Tandi.

Jill is survived by her husband, Neil; stepson, Tyler Lennertz; parents, David and Darlene Ratliff; sister, Lisa York (Christopher McCastle); aunts and uncles, Randi (Steve), Andy (Debbie), Brenda (Don), and Grace (Mike); cousins, Carri, Nichole, Mike, Josh, Melissa, Christina, Jarrett, and Nick; sisters-in-law, Lynn and Kathy; and her best friends, Bill Vickrey, Greg Stanovich, Angela King, along with many other beloved friends and family.

She was preceded in death by cherished relatives who welcomed her into eternal rest.

Jill’s legacy will be remembered in the joy she brought to others, her fierce love for family and friends, and the way she lived life fully and with laughter.
