Jerry Fitzpatrick

Jerry Fitzpatrick, born on June 10, 1944, to William and Stella Fitzpatrick, passed away on April 19, 2025.

Jerry was well-known in the Hoosier racing community. He turned his passion for racing into a career with Hoosier Racing Tires. There, he enjoyed working on cars and spending time at various racetracks. His love of cars extended to his collection of Hot Wheels.

Beyond the racetrack, Jerry was known for his cookouts. His colorblindness famously contributed to his skills behind the grill for those who preferred a well-done burger. Jerry will be fondly remembered for always being willing to help a friend in need.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Esther Fitzpatrick; brother, Tim Fitzpatrick; children, Lora Nichols, Jeffrey Fitzpatrick, Robin Reyes, Brian Fitzpatrick; grandchildren, Ashley (john) Summers, Kyle (Brooke) Summers, Kevin (Jeanette) Summers, Amanda (Craig) Wills, Michael Herndon, David Herndon, Anna Reyes, Jack (Kendra) Fitzpatrick; and nine great-grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above, and brothers, Edward Fitzpatrick and David Fitzpatrick.
