Janet (Boyer) Shaw, peacefully passed away on July 27, 2024, in Pendleton, Indiana. She was born in Erie Pennsylvania, on July 20, 1937. Janet was a devoted individual whose strong faith in Christianity defined her character and guided her throughout her life.

Janet's passion for religion was evident to all who knew her. She placed great importance on attending church regularly and embodying the values of a Christian lifestyle. Her commitment to her beliefs was unwavering and served as a source of inspiration for many.

Described as both ornery and sweet by those closest to her, Janet had a multifaceted personality that left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. Despite any challenges she faced, her kind and gentle nature never faltered.

In addition to her spiritual pursuits, Janet found joy in playing the piano. Music brought her comfort and allowed her to express herself in ways words could not capture. Her melodies will be remembered fondly by those who had the pleasure of hearing them.


Janet Shaw is survived by her loving family and friends who will cherish the memories they shared with her. Her children Arthur Shaw (Andrea), Cherly Thomas (Bill), and Carol Green (Marvin); 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; brother Jim Boyer (Jan); brother Bud Boyer (Elaine). 

She is preceded in death by her husband Fred Shaw and son Richard Shaw. 

Although she may no longer be physically present, the legacy of faith, kindness, and music that she leaves behind will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
