Jan F. Frisinger

Jan F. Frisinger, 81, of Greenfield, IN, passed away on August 19, 2022.  He was born on September 9, 1940, in Indianapolis, IN to the late Richard and Kathryn (Fee) Frisinger. Jan graduated from New Palestine High School in 1958.  He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 3 1/2 years in the early 1960’s.  Jan worked as an electrical engineer at WTHR for 27+ years, retiring in 1996.  He also worked for the public library in Greenfield, IN for 10 years.  He was a member of Park Chapel Community Church, a Mason, and CIBA (Central Indiana Bicycling Association).

Jan loved music (country western and classical were his favorite genres) and playing record albums. He also loved playing the clarinet (with his brother, Joe, and his son, John), riding bicycles, camping, roller skating, and cooking food (his favorite dessert was Pineapple Upside Cake).  Jan did amateur radio for 40+ years (K9SKR).  But the one thing Jan loved the most was his children.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above; along with his wife of 51 years, Mary Jane (Johnson) Frisinger.

Jan is survived by his children that he loved, Martin Lee Adams, John David Frisinger, Dawn Michele Frisinger Rudd and Robert Earl Frisinger; daughter in law, Gladys Adams; son in law, Edward Rudd; grandchildren, Beverly, Sara, Marta, Ian, and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Juliana, Angel, Martin, and Michael; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 1pm to 3pm on 27th of September, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a service to start at 3pm.
