James Alan "Jim" Stewart

James Alan “Jim” Stewart, 68, Poland, Indiana, passed away on June 2, 2024.  He was born in Salina, Kansas, to Samuel and Dora Evelyn (Hatfield) Stewart.  Jim, as he was affectionately known, was a Purchasing Agent and Master Scheduler for the former Maplehurst Company, and he retired after 51 years of service to the company.  

Jim enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, finding bargains at any garage sale, and spending time with his family.  He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa (Hoffman) Stewart; his children, James Andrew Stewart, Karen (Sirmark) Bonner, and Tiara Stewart; his grandchildren, Jordan and Lucas; his father, Samuel Stewart; his sister, Debbie Baynes; and his brother, David Stewart.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Dora E. Stewart; his daughter, Sundria Stewart; and his brother, Mark Stewart.  

A visitation for the family and friends of Jim Stewart will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 11:00am-12:00pm at Calvary Bible Wesleyan Church, located at 168 Lawndale Drive, Plainfield, Indiana, with the funeral service there at 12:00pm.  Jim will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield, Indiana.  Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Indianapolis is honored to be entrusted with assisting the Stewart family with these arrangements.
