James William Skelton Jr.

On Monday, March 11, 2024, Jim lost his valiant battle with cancer. He will be remembered as a painter, detailer, and one hell of a talker who could engage in conversations with people on a variety of topics. He loved to go visiting and truly loved the company of others. Jim especially cherished the time he could spend with his family and friends. He was generous with his time and his spirit and delighted in the opportunity to help those in need. Wherever he went, Jim never met a stranger as he was a quintessential people person.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Leisa Brooks; by his children: James, Cassie, Steven, Jenna, Malena, and Jimmy; his brothers: Eddie, Randy, Jerry, and Richard; his 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Skelton, Sr. and Sharon Ryan.

Jim was a very friendly, outgoing person who deeply loved his family and friends, including his best friend, Dave Jones. He will be missed very much by all who knew Jim. 

A visitation for the family and friends of Jim Skelton will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 11AM - 1PM at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 1604 W. Morris Street, Indianapolis.
