James Robert (Robbie) Robertson

James Robert "Robbie" Robertson, 81, of Anderson, passed away on August 26, 2026. He was born on November 10, 1944.

James spent several years at the Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Children's Home, where he was very active in sports, including basketball, track, cross-country, and baseball. He also played the trombone in both the school band and dance band.

James enjoyed fishing, visiting flea markets, and cheering on his favorite football teams. He was a loving father who was tough but fair and always provided for his family. Simply put, he was the best dad ever.

James leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon (Shaw) Robertson; his children, Kim (Robert) Hill, James (Sunny) Robertson, and Robert Robertson; and his stepchildren, Keith Chapin, Jeff Chapin, and September Chapin. He is also survived by his siblings, Jean Robertson, Jane (Paul) Woods, and Jack (Ruth) Robertson; as well as many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Edgar Robertson and Mabel Derringer Robertson Zdonik; and his siblings, Kay (Bob) Eckelbarger, Jo (Scotty) Himes, David Robertson, Edward Robertson, Janet (Doug) Richmond, Daris (Robert) Judy, Sharon (Gene) Powell, Dorothy (Al) Baily, and Dean (Renee) Robertson.

James will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
