James T. Jones Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, departed from this world on February 5, 2024. He was born on November 1, 1941, in Georgetown, KY, to his parents, James and Wavy Jones.

Throughout his life, James found joy in simple pleasures and cherished moments. He was a devout Christian and found inspiration in reading his Bible daily. An adventurous soul, he loved riding his scooter around town exploring, and taking drives to admire the world around him. James had a genuine curiosity for life and enjoyed striking up conversations with strangers, always eager to learn from new perspectives.

James held various jobs throughout his lifetime, but he dedicated many years of hard work to Emge's packing plant. It was during his service in the Army that he earned his GED, a testament to his determination and commitment to self-improvement.

Above all, James was immensely proud of his children. He treasured every moment spent with them and found fulfillment in watching them grow and succeed.

James is survived by his loving children: James T. Jones Jr., Mary Howell, Peggy Vance, and Lisa Jones, along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Johnathan Jones, Justin Howell, John Howell, and Cody Ellingwood.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Ivy, and brother, Eddie Kidwell.

James will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his zest for life, and his devotion to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A visitation will be held at Legacy Funeral Home on Friday, February 16th, 2024 from 11am -1pm. A service will begin at 1pm and burial will follow.
