James C. Morris

James Carl Morris, age 71, passed away on September 7, 2026. He was born on March 27, 1955, and lived a long and happy life surrounded by the people he loved.

James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Carter-Morris; both parents James and Sadie Morris and sister Jimmie Patrick. He was a devoted father to Ashley (Hoyt) Brewer, JC (Kristine) Morris, and Angelic (Brian) Morris.

There wasn’t much James couldn’t build, repair, or figure out. If you needed help, he would be right there, ready to lend a hand. Of course, he might first watch you do something the wrong way while you were convinced it was right, then ask, “Why’d you do it that way?” and laugh. That was James; helpful, knowledgeable, and always ready with a little good-natured teasing.

He was a proud grandfather to Hannah (Keaton) Robertson; Quentin Riley; Dallas Morris; and Johnny Yager. His great-grandchildren: Aurora Robertson, Archer “Archie” Robertson, Arabelle “Belle” Robertson, and Ariel Robertson were his greatest pride and joy.

James will be remembered for the life he built, the laughter he shared, and the countless ways he showed up for the people he loved. He leaves behind a lifetime of happy memories and will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him.

Services will be held Friday September 18, 2026 at Legacy Funeral Home located at 5215 N. Shadeland Ave Indianapolis, Indiana 46226. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to made to help assist with James’s headstone.
