Howard Walter Owens, 67, of Anderson, died July 5th, 2023, at his residence, surrounded by his beloved family after a long battle with an extended illness.

He was born August 5, 1955, at Ball Memorial Hospital but resided in Anderson/Pendleton most of his life.

He worked most of his life as a roller man laying asphalt. He was always a hard-working man and made sure his family was taken care of amongst others. His granddaughters were his world.

Howard is survived by his wife Kandis Owens; children Melissa Parke (Michael), Brittany Owens, and Danielle Layne (Kenny); grandchildren Marissa and Malia Parke; stepdaughter Samantha McFall and stepson Jamie McFall; step grandchildren Devon, Robbie, Savanah, Sabrina, and Matt; sisters Tina Gaul (Mike), Diana Wolf (Dennie), Ginny Kinser (Keith); and his best friends Michael Hughes and Ed Spencer.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Patricia Owens and brother Robert Owens II.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday July 11, 2023, from 3-5pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson. A dinner will be held after the services at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 174 in downtown Anderson, 1315 Meridian Street, Anderson.
