Hilda "Cookie" Mae Tucher

Hilda Mae "Cookie" Tucher, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 2nd, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on September 27, 1945, in Dover, New Jersey, Cookie was the daughter of Garner Senior and Florence Tebo Sickles. She graduated from Dover High School in 1963 and always treasured the memories she made there. A proud Dover Tiger, she never lost her affection for the school's mascot and orange and black colors.

After enduring several losses, Cookie was overjoyed to welcome her daughter, Tammy, into the world. When Tammy was just six months old, they moved to Indiana to be closer to family, beginning a new chapter that would shape the rest of her life.

Cookie built a successful career in banking, beginning at Peoples Bank in Indianapolis. Through hard work, determination, and a sharp eye for detail, she advanced to become a Fraud Investigator for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, where she eventually retired. She took tremendous pride in her work and her accomplishments and was equally proud of maintaining an excellent credit score.

Cookie was known for her vibrant personality, strong voice, quick wit, and unforgettable laugh. She never hesitated to speak her mind, and her sense of humor brought joy to those around her. Her laugh was one of the things that made her stand out. In one Cookie’s final memories, she experienced breakthrough moment before her passing and shared a laugh with those gathered around her, reassuring them that she was truly there with them.

She was fiercely protective of Tammy throughout her childhood and remained immensely proud of her daughter and family throughout her life. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives and accomplishments she celebrated with pride.

Cookie enjoyed shopping, working puzzle games on her Kindle, watching funny videos, and spending evenings enjoying episodes of Law & Order. She loved sharing laughter with others and treasured the lasting friendships she shared with her dear friends, Sue and Verna. For many years, she attended University Heights Christian Church.

Cookie is survived by her loving daughter, Tammy (Steve) Wooldridge; grandchildren, Zachary (Brittney) Nicholson, Jordan (Jonathan) Bellamey, and Seth (Jogen) Nicholson; step-grandchildren, Stephen Wooldridge and Tyler Wooldridge; great-grandchildren, Landon, Abigail, Matteo, and James; and siblings, Suzie Manini, Chrissy Fritts, Frankie Sickles, Roberta English and Ellen Gustafson.

Cookie was preceded in death by her parents, Garner Sr. and Florence Sickles; and siblings, Janet Manfredonia, William Sickles, Garner Sickles Jr., Chuck Sickles, Arthur Sickles, and Judith.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
