Henry P. Brinkman

Henry P. Brinkman, a beloved father, husband, and a retired technician at Eli Lilly, has departed this world on October 10, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on June 20, 1935, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Henry's life was characterized by hard work, family devotion, and an unwavering faith.

Henry had a fulfilling career as a technician at Eli Lilly before retiring. His dedication and commitment to his work were unmatched. 

While Henry's professional life was commendable, it was his role as a father that brought him the greatest joy. He was an extraordinary dad to his children and went above and beyond to support their dreams. One of the fondest memories his son David remembered was his dad attending baseball and cross country meets to support and cheer him on.  He cheered from the sidelines with pride and admiration for David's achievements.

In addition to being a dedicated father, Henry found solace in farming. Tending to his crops of corn and wheat brought him peace and fulfillment. He raised hogs and cattle with care and dedication, ensuring the farm thrived under his watchful eye.

Henry's love for adventure led him to enjoy camping trips with his family. Exploring nature, hiking through scenic trails, and cooking meals over an open campfire created cherished memories that will be forever treasured by those who shared these moments with him.

Traveling also held a special place in Henry's heart. Alongside his wife Margie, they embarked on delightful cruises and train excursions that allowed them to see the beauty of their own country together. Their love for exploration bonded them even closer as they discovered new places hand in hand.

Although he was known for being quiet and reserved, Henry possessed a steadfast personality. He was a man of few words but expressed his love and affection through acts of kindness and unwavering support for his family. His stoic nature was a testament to his strength and resilience.

A man deeply rooted in faith, Henry drew solace and guidance from his spiritual beliefs. His unwavering belief in the power of prayer served as an inspiration to those around him. Even during difficult times, Henry's faith remained unshakable, providing him with comfort and hope.

Henry's memory will forever be cherished by his surviving family, including his son David (Chelsee) Brinkman, daughter LeeAnn Brinkman, and grandchildren Cheyenne and Gunner. They will hold dear the wisdom he imparted upon them and the love he showered upon their lives.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna Brinkman, as well as his sisters Helen and Claira. Their memories will be treasured alongside Henry's as a testament to the bonds of family that endure beyond this earthly realm.

Services commemorating Henry P. Brinkman's life will take place on October 16th, 2023. The visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., both held at 5215 Shadeland Ave in Lawrence, Indianapolis. The burial service will conclude at St John Evangeline Cemetery at 3:00 p.m., located on German Church Road.
