Helen Ann McConnell

Ms. Helen “Ann” McConnell, a devoted mother, grandmother, and aunt, was born on August 23, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She passed on July 12, 2025, in her hometown.

Throughout her life, Helen treasured the moments spent with her loved ones. A kind spirit grounded in her Christian values; she exemplified what it meant to care for others.

Helen’s professional journey was marked by a long and successful career in media and communications. She earned advanced degrees in journalism and communications. Her life’s work was in management and college course instruction where she will be remembered as being a very hard worker who made a lasting impact on her co-workers and students.

She honored her parents and family in every aspect of her life, setting an example of love and respect.

Helen is survived by her beloved daughter, Lindsay Grubbs (Bryant Griffin); granddaughter, Angelee Griffin; nephew, Cedric McConnell (Katie), great niece, Jemma; and niece Casey Johnson (Trey) along with many loving relatives and friends who will carry forward her legacy of family and community values.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Joan McConnell; and brother, Jim McConnell.

A visitation will be held in her memory on July 23, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services—Lawrence, 5215 Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46226. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who lived with integrity and selflessness.
