With deep love and appreciation, we celebrate the remarkable life of Hattie Moore, 102, of Indianapolis, who went to her Heavenly Home on January 6, 2026. She was born on August 2, 1923, in Fairfax, Alabama. She worked at a hotel downtown on the Circle as a housekeeper. Hattie was a member of Coppin Chapel, which merged with Crossroads AME Church.

Hattie loved to sing. Her light shined in the church choir. She always had a smile on her face and was genuinely happy. Hattie loved to cook and spend time with her family and her church family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Moore Sr.; parents, Jim Walker and Ophelia (Pitts) Walker; children, Eleanor Hayward, Clarence Moore Jr., Arlene Anderson, and Thomas Moore; along with many siblings.

Hattie is survived by her children, Mary Armour, Robert Moore, Maddie Iams, Antoinette Asmeed, and Willard Moore; sister, Gladys; along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren, extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 1pm to 2pm on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Legacy Cremation & Home Going Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a service to start at 2pm at the funeral home. Hattie’s final resting place will be at Lincoln Memory Gardens, next to her husband, Clarence, in Whitestown, IN.
