Gladys Hall

Gladys Hall, age 86, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, at home with her daughter by her side. She was born October 24, 1939, in Franklin, Georgia, to the late Milton and Doris Stephens and was raised in Cleveland, Ohio.

Upon moving to Cleveland, Gladys attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse after completing nursing training at Jane Addams High School. She married Roosevelt Louis Hall in June 1959, and together they had four children: Anthony, Angela, Amelia, and Diane.

A woman of deep faith, Gladys accepted Christ at an early age and lived a life grounded in service, compassion, and generosity. She was a devoted member of Greater Mt Ararat Baptist Church, where she served in numerous roles, including Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, choir member, and President of the Nurses Guild. After relocating to Indiana, she attended Eastern Star Church and participated in the Senior Saints Ministry.

Gladys had a love for cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, traveling with friends and family, photography and just spending time with her family. She was known for her giving spirit, often sharing meals and kindness with others, and supporting and fundraising for the American Cancer Society - Relay for Life in honor of her daughter. Her joy, laughter, and love of card games—especially bid whist—were cherished by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Samuel and Jimmy Stephens; and grandchildren, Gladys and Cliffton Hall.

Gladys leaves to cherish her memory her children, Anthony Hall, Angela Hall, Amelia Hall-Mitchell (Bobby), Diane Hall; Adopted Children, Avery Cook and Tanya Watkins; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; siblings Milton Stephens and Dorothy Stephens; former spouse Roosevelt Hall; best friend Nola Washington; the Green Family, and a host of extended family and friends.

Gladys will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love. Her legacy will live on in the many lives she touched.
