Gerald Lloyd Powell

Gerald “Jerry” Powell, 86, passed away on October 14, 2023.  He was born on January 18, 1937, in Clermont, IN, to the late Arnold and Christine (Maupin) Powell.  Jerry graduated from Ben Davis High School.  Jerry was owner of Fateley Auto Body Service, working until retirement.

Jerry loved racing and was a longtime member of the American Motorcycle Association. He participated in the pits as chief engineer for numerous racing teams as well as attending the Thursday Lunch Club with his racing friends. He enjoyed photography and in retirement traveled extensively with the Good Sam Club with his wife, Barbara. 

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents mentioned above; wife, Barbara (Griswold) Powell and a brother, Mickey Powell. 

Jerry is survived by his sons: Greg Powell (Debbie) and Jeff Powell; grandchildren, Ashley Powell (Paul) Enlow and Garritt (Samantha) Powell; and his great friend, Chet Blanton as well as extended family and friends.

Visitation for Jerry is from 10am-12pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the chapel on the property of Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, IN, with a service to start at 12pm.  Jerry’s final resting place will be with his wife, Barbara, in the mausoleum at Lincoln Memory Gardens.  Funeral arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.
