Gary Lee George, 63, of Anderson, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on September 6, 2025. At last, he is at peace.
Born May 11, 1962, in Noblesville, Indiana, to Rosa Tennant and Gary George, Gary lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and friendship. He spent time in Fort Hood, Texas, much of his adult life in Maryland, and made Indiana his home for the last 14 years.
Gary was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and deer hunting. He also loved to work and was known for his quick wit and big sense of humor. A true jokester at heart, Gary never met a stranger and had a gift for remembering everyone he met. He was a loyal friend, generous and kind, and left a lasting mark on all who knew him. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 174.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Candace Dunton, Chelsie George, and Kayla George and son in-law Charles Belt; grandchildren Kierstyn, Daniel, Zachary, Keilei, Hayden, Khyre Jr., Kyleigh, Kamiya, and Kaelynn; two great-grandchildren, Nora and Kaisen; 1 niece, and 2 nephews; Melissa George and many dear friends who were like family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shana George; his brother, Butch George; and his parents, Edwin and Rosa Marie Tennant.
A celebration of life will be held at the Eagles Post 174 in Anderson. Date and time will be announced.
Gary will be remembered for his laughter, kindness, and the way he made life brighter for those around him.
