Frances Lucile Kinnan

Frances Lucile Kinnan passed away on January 18, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on June 30, 1945, in Sullivan, Indiana, she was a cherished daughter of Carmen and Frances Sparks.

After graduating from Sullivan High School, Frances began working at the Indianapolis Public Library. She then became an audiologist, testing school children’s hearing for Indianapolis Public Schools. Later, she was hired by Health and Hospital Corporation in Marion County, working in the City-County Building where she first met her husband, Don Kinnan. The couple married in 1982. Frances's professional journey led her to work at the Health Department headquarters, occasionally at Wishard Hospital, and ultimately serving as a Legal Assistant in the Headquarters on Rural Street. She retired after 32 years of service.

Outside of her professional commitments, Frances found joy in dining out, usually for breakfast, and had a passion for travel, creating lasting memories with her family in California, Canada, Maine, Florida, and Chicago. Frances shared her home with Don and their cats, Madge and Todd. A longtime member of Lawrence United Methodist Church, Frances actively participated in the community by singing in the choir and serving on various committees.

Frances is survived by her loving husband, Don; her cherished daughter, Amy Anderson; and grandchildren, Cameron, Caroline, and Shawn. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters-in-law, Denise and Dina; her brother Jon and sister Joy, and a beloved nephew, Mark Sevier, all of whom will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Services in honor of Frances Kinnan will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, located at 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. A public visitation will precede the memorial service, starting at 12:00 PM, with the service following at 1:00 PM. Frances will find her final resting place at Little Creek Cemetery, Losantville, Indiana.
