Floyd Stohler Jr., 90, of Anderson, Indiana, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 5, 2025. Born on November 26, 1934, to Floyd and Gertie Stohler, Floyd lived a full life marked by hard work, faith, and a deep love for his family.
Floyd was employed with General Motors in production as a toolmaker and device specialist for 32 years before retiring. He later dedicated nine years to the Anderson Parks Department. A skilled woodworker, Floyd enjoyed creating with his hands and sharing his craft. For 24 years, he and his wife enjoyed life as snowbirds, cherishing their time together between Indiana and warmer destinations. Known for his friendly spirit, Floyd never knew a stranger.
He was a faithful member of Pleasant Valley Church of God, where he built lifelong friendships and lived out his beliefs with kindness and service.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Virginia Stohler; his children, Floyd David (Barbara) Stohler, Connie (Scott) Walker, Donald (Paula) Stohler, Vickie Stohler, and stepdaughter Rita McDonald; brother, Edward (Carolyn) Stohler; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Patty Stohler; stepdaughter, Grace Babbs; grandson Joseph Stohler; great-granddaughters Angel and Amanda Kocher; and siblings, Charles Stohler, Lorena Short, Evelyn Cooper, Thomas Stohler, Rosemary Cooper, Ruth Griffin, and Dorothy Schusler.
Floyd’s legacy of love, laughter, and hard work will live on in all who knew him.
Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services is honored to serve the Stohler family. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., with the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
