Floyd Daniel Penrod III, 66, passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2024, surrounded by his wife and children. During the last week of his life, his family had slumber parties around him and poured their love into caring for him and ensuring he was comfortable.
Floyd graduated from Northside High School class of 1977. He married Gail (Jackson) after falling in love the first night they met. They were married for 42 years. He lived and worked in Muncie most of his life as a tool maker. He retired from D1 Mold & Tool- a job he truly loved. When his daughter started nursing school, he and Gail moved to Fishers, IN to be close to their grandbabies.
Missing him forever is his daughter Abi Duncan (Aaron), son Floyd “Daniel” Penrod IV, granddaughter Layla Duncan, grandson Jax Duncan, sister Sara Mong (Jerry), sister Anita Osborn (Tim), brother John Penrod (Sheryl), and his beloved dog Tucker.
Floyd was proceeded in death by his father, Floyd Daniel Penrod Jr. and his mother, Sara Ruth (Schofill) Penrod.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Community Palliative Care and Hospice for their love and support; a team his daughter is also a part of. The support and care they provided allowed Floyd to have a peaceful passing at home. They'd also like to thank Dr. Jay Bhatt and Dr. Scott Taylor for their wonderful care over the years.
