Floyd Daniel Penrod, IV

Floyd "Daniel" Penrod IV, forever 36 years old, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Daniel was born in Muncie, Indiana, to parents Floyd and Gail Penrod on August 26th, 1988. Daniel graduated from Wapahani High School with honors in 2007. Daniel was a star volleyball player which offered him a position on the Ball State University Men's Volleyball team. In 2009, Daniel relocated to Los Angeles, California to pursue his dream of playing professional volleyball. Daniels career goals changed when he was offered a position on the Netflix series "House of Cards". Daniel went on to work on the HBO series Ballers and he achieved a career high when he worked his way to co-producer on the Amazon MGM series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel". Maisel went on to win the Emmy award for Best Comedy series, where Daniels family and friends were thrilled to see his beaming smile from the Emmy stage on national television. 

Daniels permanent home was in New York where he continued to strive for even higher career goals. In the last year of Daniel's life he spent his time back home in Indiana to help care for his father who recently passed away in December 2024. Daniel remained in Indiana to be with mom and surround himself with family to grieve the loss of his father. 

Daniel lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed playing volleyball, cooking, gardening, traveling, fashion, fine wine and a good cup of coffee. Daniel loved a beautiful presentation of his amazing food- he could turn anything into gold. 

Missing and loving him forever- his mother Gail (Jackson) Penrod, sister Abi (Aaron) Duncan, niece Layla Duncan, nephew Jax Duncan, best friend Rachel Snell, and partner in life Sal Carino. His many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends- who he cared for like family. 

Proceeding him in death: his father Floyd Daniel Penrod III, paternal grandparents Floyd & Sara Penrod, maternal grandparents Doris Bowman & Charles Jackson, and brother Matthew Polson. 

Please join the family for Daniel's Celebration of Life on March 15th, 2025 at Purgatory Golf Club located at 12160 E. 216th St Noblesville, IN 46060. Remembrance gathering from 3-5p, special service at 5pm. Thank you to all the generous and wonderful people in Daniel's life that donated money to help give him a special send off. Service will be live-streamed for those unable to attend.
