Eva Deloris James

Eva Deloris James, daughter of James and Lula May White, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2022, in the comfort of her own home in Indianapolis, IN.  Eva was born in Lexington, Tennessee on January 1, 1954.  She was one of many blessings born to this union.

She was a hard worker and she wanted things done right.  Eva loved to travel, enjoyed eating out, visiting family, getting her hair done and of course fashion was a must.  She consistently matched from head to toe every day.  On November 5, 2022, she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witness.  This was one of the many accomplishments in her life, but one she was most proud of.  Eva worked in the housekeeping department at Fort Harrison for 19 years, before retiring in 2016.  Three years into retirement was more than enough for Eva as she returned to the workforce in 2019.  This time, she worked at American Village Lincoln Lodge, where she was employed as a server in the culinary department, until she took ill.  It was one of the highlights of her day working there, she enjoyed talking and laughing with the residents.

Eva leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Robert (Angela) James; grandchildren, Neechelle James, Ceiontez James and Korrell James; great grandchild, Aurora Mobley; siblings, Annette (Lomorris Sr.) Hillman, Karen (Sam) Smith, Donald (Donna) Mathis, Flora Heart, Gloria Burton, and Yvonne Pogue; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lula May White; her brothers, Melvin Easley, Thomas Earl White Sr., James Oliver White, Bobby Joe White, Randolph Pogue; and granddaughter, Storm James.
