Eunice Ann Dalton

Eunice Ann Dalton, 79, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026.

Born on February 9, 1947, in Anderson, Indiana, Eunice was raised in Madison County and graduated from Frankton High School with the Class of 1965. She was a woman of deep faith who loved the Lord, trusted in His guidance, and lived her life with a servant's heart.

On June 20, 1964, she married the love of her life, Robert H. Dalton, beginning a beautiful marriage that spanned 62 years. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and caring for others.

Eunice dedicated much of her life to nursing and caregiving. After obtaining her nursing certification, she worked as a home healthcare caregiver throughout Madison County, Indiana, and later in Cass County, Minnesota. She retired in 1996 when Bob retired, and the couple made Minnesota their home for the next twenty years, embracing the slower pace of life and Bob's passion for fishing.

Eunice was a talented crafter whose creativity seemed to know no bounds. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, and cooking. Her chicken & noodles, chocolate chip cookies, and pies became family favorites. She even passed her culinary skills on to her son. Though she enjoyed many forms of crafting throughout her life, quilting became her true passion after moving to Minnesota. She was an active participant in the Cass County Township Hall quilting bees and delighted in attending quilting "shop hops," traveling near and far in search of fabrics, inspiration, and fellowship with fellow quilters.

Her handmade quilts reflected the love and care she poured into every stitch. She generously created quilts for veterans and countless others. Life on their Minnesota farm brought her great joy. She enjoyed watching the wildlife around her, especially the bears, deer, and majestic bald eagles that visited the property.

Eunice was known for her friendly nature, outgoing personality, and willingness to help anyone in need. She was a giver, she cared deeply for others, and she was always ready with a kind word, helping hand, home-cooked meal, or thoughtful gift. When in Indiana, she attended Bethany Christian Church, where she enjoyed worship and fellowship with her church family.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Robert H. Dalton; her children, Valorie Ann Miller, Robert Scott Dalton, and Penny Ann Dalton; her grandsons, Jacob Leroy Dalton and Jeremy Kent Dalton; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J. & Thelma E. Stanley, and her brothers, Tom Stanley and Bob Stanley.

A graveside service will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.

There is comfort in knowing that Eunice's faith has become sight and that she is now resting in the presence of the Lord she faithfully served throughout her life.
