Estella A. Gaines

Estella A. Gaines, 84, of Brownsburg, IN, gone home on April 3, 2023.  She was born on May 8, 1938, in Danville, IL.  Estella graduated from Pike High School in 1956.  She went on to become an x-ray technician, first for Methodist, and then retiring from Allison Transmission’s Medical Clinic.  Estella was also a Sunday School teacher for 5 generations of 3 to 4 year olds for the Traders Point Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Smith and Estella Dunivan; and granddaughter, Chrysti Dunn.

Estella is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donnie R. Gaines; children, Donnie Gaines Jr. (Rhonda), Dawna Gaines, and Debbie Ann Penrod (Bill); many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; along with her sister, Connie Petty and brother, Jimmy Smith (Sandy).

Visitation will be on Friday, April 7, 2023, from 12noon to 2pm at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 1604 W. Morris Street, with a service to start at 2pm.  A private burial will follow at St. Malachy West Cemetery in Pittsboro, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
