Elizabeth "Liz" Carr

October 20, 1956 — May 7, 2024

Indianapolis, Indiana

Elizabeth Carr, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away on May 7, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Presley D. and Inez (Shipley) Carr.

Liz, as she was known to family and friends, was a hard worker who supported her family by managing the Village Pantry at East Street and Terrace for 31 years before she retired. She was the mother of two boys, Joe and Larry Perkins. Both boys were athletic, and Liz was always on the go taking them to practices and sporting events in which they were participating. She was very proud of her sons as both young men went into the skilled trades and eventually owned their own businesses. She sacrificed her vehicle for Danny, who needed reliable transportation in order to complete his plumbing apprenticeship. Liz enjoyed her family, and when the boys were younger, they spent much quality time together feeding the ducks at the nearby park. She also enjoyed watching gameshows on television and listening to music from the 60s. Her greatest loves in life were her two sons, her family, and her dog, Buddy, who preceded her death. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and she will leave a huge void in everyone's heart.

Elizabeth is survived by her two sons: Joe (Brandy) Perkins, and Larry (Natalie) Perkins; Her grandchildren: Johnea, Larry Jr., Malachi, Damon, and Bradley; and her great-grandson, Zeke; and Liz's sister, DeeDee.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents: Presley and Inez (Shipley) Carr; her sister Sheila and brother-in-law Ronnie Robison; her sister, Shirley; and her half-brother, Bobby Carr.

Services for Elizabeth Carr will be held at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services located at 1604 W. Morris Street, Indianapolis, on Thursday, May 16, 2024. There will be a visitation from 12 - 1PM for family and friends of Liz, and the funeral service will follow at 1PM that day. She will then be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
