Elbert Aurthur Stevens

Elbert Aurthur Stevens, age 55, passed away on April 24, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, following an extended illness.

He was born on January 4, 1971, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Robert and Luella Stevens. Elbert attended Arsenal Technical High School and was an entrepreneur.

Elbert enjoyed traveling and most recently resided in California before returning to Indiana approximately one year ago to be closer to family. He had a passion for gaming, computers, and music, and was known for his outgoing, kind, and respectful nature. Elbert believed strongly in living by the Golden Rule—treating others the way you want to be treated. Elbert cherished conversations with his children and made it a priority to speak with them daily.

He is survived by his wife, Heather Stevens; his children, Xavria (Jacob) Whitmore, Williams (Austi) Stevens, Rebecca Stevens, and Dustin Stevens; his grandchildren, Zane Stevens, Samyrah Stevens, and Kiegan Stevens; his brothers, Barry Stevens and William Stevens; and his sisters, Roseanna Stevens and Sarah Stevens.

Elbert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Stevens and Luella Stevens; Emma Smith; and his grandparents, William Stevens, and Calvin and Juanita Grubb.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Elbert will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through his family and the many lives he touched with his kindness, warmth, and love.
