Douglas Allen Sommer, 58 years young passed on December 7th, 2024. He was born November 19, 1966, to Leo Thomas Jr and Shirley May Sommer. He was raised by his mother Shirley. Douglas, who often was referred to as Doug growing up, preferred to be call Douglas. He was the youngest of three boys, Steven the oldest, and Michael Sommer. They all enjoyed their own favorite pastimes but were all mischief throughout their childhood.
Douglas graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1985 and continued his education at the Harrison College Chef Academy. Doug was a worker and sometimes even worked two jobs. He worked at Marsh grocery store for 28yrs, FedEx at the Indianapolis, International Airport, Aunt Millies, and finally at Frito Lay. He was a merchandiser and a planner working closely with the grocery store directors. He enjoyed traveling to Cancun and Florida, cooking, his home, gardening and admired Marilyn Monroe.
Douglas is survived by his brothers, Steven and Michael, his adorable pets, Daisy Duke his dog and Lucy his cat that he loved dearly.
